Summary and Background of Subject Matter:
Staff are critically aware of the importance of finishing the improvements to County Road 5 (CR5) so they don't adversely impact the adjacent schools and neighborhood. Students have their first day of the 2022-23 school year on Wednesday, August 17. Parents who have to drop and pick up their children at these schools, as well as St. Vrain Valley School District (SVVSD) teachers, support staff and school administration are understandably concerned about safe access to the schools. Town staff shares this concern and with this presentation will review the many actions we have taken, and are taking, in coordination with SVVSD and with the Colliers Hill Metropolitan District #3 (CHMD) to safely finish the key elements of this project before school starts on August 17th. CHMD is directly managing the construction work.

Background.
At the May 11, 2021 meeting of the Board of Trustees, the Board approved an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with CHMD to share cost in a project for improvements to County Road 5 (CR5) "Weld County Road 5 Widening & Raw Water Line Project". This project had been previously competitively bid by CHMD and a project schedule had been developed.
