SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The 2018 capital budget includes funds to replace approximately 50 water service tap saddles and install corrosion protection along the 300 to 500 blocks of Pierce Street. In 2016, the Town had a similar issue with a portion of Kattell Street where the service tap saddles were corroding, due to corrosive soils, causing several emergency water break repairs. An engineering study was performed in the area and the recommendation was to replace all the service tap saddles and install corrosion protection.
An Invitation to Bid was posted on the Town's website on June 28, 2018. Bids were received on July 31, 2018 and are listed below. No local contractors submitted a bid.
