SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
In April 2017 the Board of Trustees authorized a contract with Wenk Associates to complete a master plan and construction documents for the Linear Trail Connection. It has been the Town's and Board of Trustees vision to complete the Linear Trail Connection project. Completion of this will increase trail connectivity, improve circulation and encourage alternative forms of transportation to/from the downtown area. The conceptual master plan was approved by the Board of Trustees on January 23, 2018 and staff was directed to move forward with final construction documents.
Town staff worked with Wenk Associates to prepare construction documents and went out to bid.
Construction Contract
On August 8, 2018 an invitation to bid was released and four bids were received as shown below:
Jag's Enterprises, Inc. $423,978.00
Colt & Steel Corporation $491,914.06
Site Work Solutions $495,248.73
Goodland Construction $509,590.00
Analysis completed by staff it has been determined that Jag's Enterprises is the best overall contractor to complete the project based on the following factors:

* Past work history/experience
* Interview with staff
