SUMMARY/KEY POINTS
• The Town contracted CTL|Thompson to perform a geotechnical investigation of the undermining at Erie Town Center.
• This amendment increases the scope of the investigation to include additional surveying methods to attempt to locate the historically mapped air shafts.
BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
Historical maps of the mines located at Erie Town Center show two air shafts located on the site. Previous investigations have failed to determine the exact locations of these air shafts. This contract amendment increases the scope of CTL|Thompson’s investigation to include two additional geophysical survey methods to attempt to locate these air shafts for future mitigation efforts.
