SUMMARY/KEY POINTS
The North Wastewater Reclamation Facility (NWRF) completed its expansion project in 2020, and this project aims to address improvements that were not completed as part of that expansion project.
BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The Town of Erie NWRF currently has only one mechanical bar screen with the only alternative being a manual screen. A second screen is necessary for redundancy if the current screen breaks down.
The facility discharges its effluent to Boulder Creek through a pipeline that runs along the east and north banks of the NWRF Re-Use Reservoir. Water from the NWRF Re-Use Reservoir also discharges into Boulder Creek at the same location and follows the same alignment, but through a separate pipeline. It has proven difficult to monitor and sample flows from each source separately. The Town desires to combine the pipes and have a single flow and sampling station located at the discharge into Boulder Creek so that all flows are accounted for in the same location. Doing so will ensure that all samples are representative, and flow into Boulder Creek is accurate.
