POLICY ISSUES:
The Town Council appoints Advisory Board members, including Planning Commission. Planning Commission expressed desire to demonstrate support of Commissioners Booth and Burns continued service, and a resolution is the appropriate legal means.

SUMMARY/KEY POINTS

* At the request of Commissioners legal counsel drafted a resolution in support of Commissioners Booth and Burns being reappointed by Council.
BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
At the January 21, 2026, meeting Commissioners discussed upcoming vacancies of three seats - Baham, Booth, and Burns. Commissioners Booth and Burns wish to continue to serve on the Commission.
The Town Clerk opened recruitment for Planning Commission vacancies on January 20. Applications close February 23. The Council will conduct interviews and make appointments on March 3. Commissioners' first Planning Commission meeting will be on March 18.
At a Special Meeting on September 16, 2025, Council directed Town Management to ensure that terms ending in 2026 be appointed for three years, thus keeping all Advisory Board appointments to odd years. The three expiring Planning Commission terms will end in 2029. Remaining terms are as follows:
