The 2025 Budget includes $100,000 for the economic incentives program.

POLICY ISSUES:
Establish a formal Economic Incentives Policy for the Town of Erie to support a robust, diverse and resilient economy by assisting existing and new small businesses as well as developers that bring extraordinary value to the community. The Policy encourages high-quality, private sector investments in real estate and workforce development while advancing the Economic Development goals identified by Town Council and staff.

SUMMARY/KEY POINTS
The Town’s Economic Development staff presented an overview of potential economic incentives that can be used by Home Rule municipalities at a Council meeting on March 18, 2025. Town Council directed staff to bring back a formal Economic Incentives Policy which reflects the discussions that occurred during the presentation. Upon review of Council feedback and research of regional competitors, staff developed a formal Economic Incentives Policy for the Town.
