SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

Town of Erie staff will present the 2024 Outstanding Resident Award. This program began in 2021 at the suggestion of then Board Trustee Bill Gippe. It is intended to honor Erie residents, non-profits, or organizations that have made significant contributions to or had a significant positive impact on the community. The Town encouraged residents to nominate deserving individuals or organizations for consideration. The selection criteria were broad, as contribution and impact can be measured or determined in different ways. Under consideration were things such as community leadership, community organization involvement, heroic action, humanitarian efforts, service, volunteerism, and even business success, personal or professional achievement, or recognition brought to the Erie community because of an individual’s efforts.

For 2024, there were five nominees, and each will receive a certificate of nomination. The nominees were:

                     Bob Braudes

                     Michele Gonzales

                     Tyler Schilling

                     Stacy Gustafson

                     Tony Prater

The final award recipient will be honored with a commemorative brick placed in the walkway at Erie Community Park and will receive a matching commemorative brick to keep.
