POLICY ISSUES:
This IGA will permit an interchange and multimodal study on I-25 to identify transportation issues along the corridor and evaluate the interchanges at CO 52 and Erie Parkway.

Staff recommends approving the IGA with CDOT to initiate the study work associated with a DRCOG Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) grant the Town received in 2023.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The Town of Erie received a DRCOG TIP grant in 2023 for an I-25 Interchange Study. The I-25 corridor will be evaluated from the CO 52 interchange to the Erie Parkway interchange including interchange analysis, multimodal improvements, transit connections, travel patterns, and the growth of the surrounding area. The study will align recommendations based on various plans including Erie’s Comprehensive Plan, Erie’s Transportation & Mobility Plan, DRCOG’s Regional Transportation Plan, RTD’s System Optimization Plan, and CDOT’s Statewide and Transit Plans.
