SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The Town of Erie is partnering with Fehr & Peers to update the Town’s Transportation and Mobility Plan (TMP). Fehr & Peers was part of the original awarded contract for the combined Comprehensive Plan and TMP, which was approved on Oct. 11, 2022. Since then, the Town terminated the contract with the primary consultant. Staff wants to maintain continuity with the TMP consulting team, Fehr & Peers is capable of completing the remaining scope of work, and the existing budget will cover this work. The TMP is now 30% complete.
The TMP was last updated in 2018. Since the last update, the Town has grown and changed significantly resulting in the need for a major plan update. The TMP will provide strategic direction and guide transportation projects through project prioritization, policies, and programs. The Plan will address key themes like safety, funding, phasing, connectivity, transportation demand management, intelligent systems, and emergency planning, among others.
