Summary and Background of Subject Matter:

Jason Hurd of Vector Air (Vector) will present the history of the agreement between the Town and Vector Air for management of Erie Municipal Airport (EIK). Vector’s current agreement was first entered into in 2011, reflecting the recommendations of a 2009 Economic Development study. The Town has renewed that agreement a number of times, including most recently in October of 2017 with a Third Amendment. The current Agreement expires on December 31, 2022.

Jason will provide a brief history of how the Town came into ownership of EIK, prior various management models, improvements achieved during Vector’s management of EIK, general logistics involved in managing the airport, capital programs and operating the fixed-base operation (FBO). Jason and Town staff will also discuss airport revenues and expenses under the existing agreement and Vector’s perspective on entering into a new agreement.

This presentation will be followed by staff bringing forward detailed recommendations of next steps at a study session in September.
