SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

In March of 2021, the Board of Trustees approved an agreement with Wenk Associates to update and complete construction documents for the Coal Creek Park Redevelopment Project. To help fund this project, Town staff are pursuing a Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) grant through GOCO's Community Impact Program. The Community Impact Program requires applicants to submit a concept paper before being invited to submit a full application. Staff submitted a concept paper for the Coal Creek Park Redevelopment Project on August 23. Forty-five organizations from around the state submitted concept papers. Of those 45 concept papers, GOCO has invited only 14 organizations to submit a full application, one of which was the Coal Creek Park Redevelopment Project. This full application is due on September 30th. If awarded in December of 2021, the Town will have two years to complete the project.

The application requires a signed resolution from the Board of Trustees. The resolution must include the following:
* Support for the proposed project and application.
* Acknowledgement that the Town is responsible for the expenditure of funds required to meet the terms and obligations of the grant agreement and application.
* A statement authorizing a designated official to sign the grant agreement if the grant is awarded.
