SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

In April of 2020, Rocksol provided an Erie Downtown Infrastructure Improvements Report for the Town of Erie. That report identified twelve different infrastructure improvement projects to continue to support the growth and vitality of Downtown Erie. The total cost of all improvements identified was close to $10 million.

With the execution of the Boulder Creek Wee-Cottages development at Erie Commons, the Town of Erie URA will be able to issue bonds worth approximately $3.8 million to fund some of the Infrastructure Improvement projects. Since this $3.8 million will not allow the Town to complete all twelve infrastructure improvement projects, staff conducted a Community Engagement project intended to inform and receive input from residents and business leaders on which projects are a priority for the community. This presentation is on the results of the Community Engagement project.
