Summary and Background of Subject Matter:
The 2021 General Fund capital budget includes two projects. One is to remove and replace the existing aquatic heat plant with a two boiler system to supply both the pool and hot tub. The other is to remove and replace the existing pool roof top unit (RTU) that supplies the pool area. Both items are at the Erie Community Center and work is expected to be completed during the annual maintenance shut down in August 2021.

The Town requested bids from three companies for both these projects (combined as one project). The low bidder is Haynes Mechanical Systems, Inc. Staff recommends awarding the construction contract to Haynes Mechanical Systems, Inc, for the bid amount of $838,911 and an additional $83,889 reserved for unforeseen items that will result in a change order for a total contract amount of $934,000.

Fiscal Impact:
The 2021 General Fund budget has $250,000 in the 2021 adopted budget, $258,300 will be added in the first supplemental from 2020 rollover allocations as well as $180,500 in transfers from other projects through deferment and cost savings and an additional appropriation of $245,200 with the first supplemental appropriation.
