PUBLIC HEARING: An Ordinance of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Erie Repealing and Reenacting Section 9-1-3 of the Erie Municipal Code to Adopt 2020 Edition of the National Electrical Code, with Amendments.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Building Division staff recommends adoption of the 2020 National Electrical Code (NEC) to be in compliance with C.R.S. Title 12, Article 115-107(2)(j) - an incorporated town or city shall meet the minimum requirements of this article 115 by adopting or adhering to the most current State Electrical Board adopted NEC within twelve months after Board adoption. State Electrical Board adoption of the 2020 NEC became effective August 1, 2020.
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
In accordance with C.R.S. 12-115-107(2)(a) the powers and duties of the State Electrical Board, under the State Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), includes adoption of the most current edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC) as minimum standards governing electrical work in the state.
