Approve resolution authorizing the one year extension of the Lease with the Erie Chamber of Commerce for 235 Wells Street.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The Town has been leasing the Town-owned building located at 235 Wells Street to the Erie Chamber of Commerce for $1.00 per year since 2002. The current lease is set to expire on June 30, 2021. Staff recommends the lease be extended for one year, to June 30, 2022, to provide the necessary time to complete the Town’s long-range facilities review and plan. Having this plan in place it will provide a better foundation on which to base the long-term use of this Town owned facility. This will also allow time to evaluate the Town’s overall financial support for the Chamber, including the market value of this lease.
