Summary and Background of Subject Matter:
In 2020, the Town received a CARES funding grant for assistance with the Erie Municipal Airport operations in the amount of $30,000. This grant was used to offset the Fixed Base Operation (FBO) fees Vector Air pays the Town to allow Vector Air to use that money in other areas of operations viable for the Airport during this COVID-19 pandemic.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has offered a grant to the Town as a Phase 2 of this under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (Public Law 116-260) (CRRSA). This act allowed the FAA to develop the Airport Coronavirus Relief Grant Program (ACRGP) offering another round of assistance to affected airports.
The Town received Grant No. 3-08-0090-020-2021 in the amount of $13,000 to help offset the FBO fees Vector Air pays the Town during 2021.
Fiscal Impact: The Town will receive $13,000 in grant funding from the FAA in lieu of FBO least payments from Vector Air.
