Adopt the Resolution to approve said agreement, authorize the appropriate Town officer to execute said contract, and authorize staff to expend funds.

Summary and Background of Subject Matter:

The 2021 budget includes a project to replace the generator at Town Hall. The existing Town Hall generator was installed in approximately 1998. The reliability of the generator has been a concern with documented failures in the last few years.  The generator and electrical system at Town Hall is a critical hub for data and computer systems. 

 

Due to the long lead time for purchasing a generator, the Town purchased the generator separately. This contract will include construction aspects to install the generator when it’s delivered.

 

This contract will include salvage of the Town Hall existing generator and ancillary equipment, demolition of a single parking space including asphalt and curb and gutter, construction of a concrete slab with bollards, installation of a new emergency generator, control panel, conduit and all associated appurtenances for a complete and functional system. 

 

Fiscal Impact: The services agreement is for $131,650 with $16,450 available for unforeseen items.
