SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

At the March 13, 2018 meeting, the Board of Trustees awarded a contract for the Master Plan Update for Potable and Non-Potable Water to Merrick & Company.

Since September 11, 2001 the Department of Homeland Security has recommended against Water Systems making their Water Master Plans publically available. These plans, in the wrong hands, can function as a road map on how to defeat security, treatment and distribution of drinking water. For this reason only the pages which outline the recommended capital improvement projects and cost are included. If any Board member would like a copy of the full plan, staff can provide a printed copy upon request.

Fiscal Impact:

Master Plans help the Town plan for growth and financially for infrastructure improvements required due to either Development or for upgrades to existing systems.
