SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
During the Study Session we will be reviewing the annual recruitment process to fill vacant seats on the Town of Erie advisory boards and commissions. In anticipation of the Board’s election, the Town Clerk’s office began advertising in March and in early April began accepting applications for the Town’s boards and commissions. The deadline for submitting applications was April 30, 2020. Staff anticipates the Board of Trustees will appoint advisory board and commission members at the May 26, 2020 meeting.
During the study session, staff would appreciate the Board addressing these questions regarding the process of appointments:
1. Would the Board like to interview (virtual) all or some applicants? If so, would this include a particular board, ie. Planning Commission, or others?
2. Would the Board like the current advisory board members to nominate and recommend applicants for vacancies?
