SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
Background:
The Planning Commission has 3 members with terms that end this month; Commissioner Tim Hedahl, Chair Eric Bottenhorn and Commissioner Kelly Zuniga. Both Chair Bottenhorn and Commissioner Hedahl will be leaving Planning Commission. Commissioner Zuniga has expressed interest in applying to serve another term and has agreed to be appointed to a 6 month temporary term. In addition to the 3 members with terms that end this month, Vice Chair Ari Harrison will also be ending his participation on the Planning Commission at the end of this month to serve on the Board of Trustees.
With 4 Planning Commission members ending their terms at the end of the month there are not enough members to have a quorum to hold a meeting. The Town is advertising for new members for the various boards and commissions. However, appointment of new members will not occur before the end of the month. To have the Planning Commission continue to hold meetings, staff recommends the Board of Trustees appoint Commissioner Kelly Zuniga to a 6 month temporary term on the Planning Commission. Commissioner Kelly Zuniga has served on the Planning Commission for one 4 year term that ends this month.
