SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

The 2020 adopted budget includes the purchase of new and replacement Fleet units. The Capital Budget includes purchasing a loader. Each unit is evaluated on the basis of age, mileage, and maintenance cost. The current loader is predominantly used by the Streets division although occasionally used by other various divisions including, but not limited to, Distribution and Collections, Parks, Water Treatment, and Wastewater Treatment.

The Town received the quote from Wagner Equipment Company through the use of Sourcewell (formerly NJPA) Cooperative Purchasing Group. The total cost of the loader is $176,428.61. Due to lead time in actually receiving a new vehicle from the dealer, it will take approximately two months from the Board’s approval to put this unit into service.
