SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
State election laws were updated in 2019 to reflect specific deadlines for filing of write in candidates and requiring statutory municipalities to expressly permit the cancellation of elections if there are not more candidates than seats to be filled. The attached Ordinance to will bring the Erie Municipal Code in compliance with state election law.
