SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

At the February 26, 2019 Board of Trustees meeting the Town Board approved a resolution authorizing staff to submit a funding request for 80 percent federal $480,000 and 20 percent local $120,000 to the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), for funding the traffic signal portion of the intersection improvements at Erie Parkway and Weld County Road 7.

The funding request was approved by DRCOG. The next step is to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the State of Colorado to administer the federal funds. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) administers federal transportation funds for the State of Colorado.

Three copies of the agreement must be signed and returned for the State's signature. Once the agreement is executed, the Town can begin the selection of a design firm to prepare the signal design and contract documents for bidding the signal construction. The construction funding will not be authorized until next summer.
