SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

 

The Sustainability Advisory Board voted (March 6, 2019 meeting) to recommend the Board of Trustees invite Jacob Smith, Executive Director of Colorado Communities for Climate Action (CC4CA) to present to the Board the benefits of Erie joining the CC4CA organization and recommend Erie join the organization. <https://cc4ca.org/>

 

Jacob Smith, Executive Director of CC4CA presented to the Board of Trustees on May 14, 2019. At that meeting, the Board invited Jacob Smith back for a study session to discuss CC4CA membership in more detail.

 

CC4CA is a coalition of local governments across the State that advocates for state and federal policies to protect Colorado’s climate for current and future generations. CC4CA is governed by a steering committee of representatives from member communities. Unanimous consent among members is required to set the coalition’s policy priorities.

 

Approval of the attached 2019 Policy Statement is a requirement of membership to CC4CA.
