SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

Town staff along with the Sustainability Advisory Board have been working with Lotus to develop the Sustainability Master Plan. A kick-off meeting led by Lotus was held with staff and the Sustainability Advisory Board on June 5th. The meeting covered the following:

Process for developing the Sustainability Master Plan

Begin to develop a vision for the sustainability plan

The sectors the sustainability plan will focus on

o                     Energy

o                     Transportation

o                     Waste/Recycling

o                     Education/Outreach

The various sub-topics that fall under each sector.

The types of goals the group envisions and the co-benefits of sustainability that Erie would like to focus on and include as strategies are vetted for the plan.

To ensure the Sustainability Master Plan goals are reasonable, Lotus has conducted interviews gathering input from Town staff, the Sustainability Advisory Board, and with local utilities and other potential partners.
