SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The 2019 Budget includes funds for the update of both the Drought Mitigation Master Plan and Water Efficiency Master Plan (Water Conservation Master Plan). The two plans will be developed in parallel to capitalize on efficiencies in the development of each plan.

The Drought Mitigation Master Plan will aid the Town in identifying triggers and assist in planning and managing Erie's water supplies during water shortage periods. The Water Efficiency Master Plan (Water Conservation Master Plan) will aid in improving conservation efforts, this plan is also a requirement of both the State and for participation in NISP.

To offset the cost to develop these two plans Town staff will work with Intera Incorporated to develop the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) grant application, and obtain funds for updating the Drought Mitigation Master Plan and Water Efficiency Master Plan (Water Conservation Master Plan).
