SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
On May 1, 2019, the Town entered into an agreement with the Fair Winds Hot Air Balloon Flights to conduct launching operations from a portion of the Strieby Open Space property adjacent to Schofield Farm Open Space. Balloon launching from this area was identified in the 2016 Schofield Farm & Open Space Master Plan and is a result from several years of planning and negotiations. Fair Winds will launch early in the mornings from May-November, weather permitting, from the eastern edge of the Strieby Open Space. This agreement is an excellent example of a public-private partnership and look forward to the visitors it will bring to the Town of Erie.
