SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

In December of 2018, staff was notified that History Colorado approved a grant request to conduct a Historic Structures Assessment at the Schofield Open Space site.

In the subsequent months, staff conducted an RFP process for qualified firms and selected Form+Works Design Group to conduct the Historic Structures Assessment.

The contract is for $44,183.00, with $30,900.00 to be covered by the SHF grant, the rest being covered by funds currently appropriated in the 2019 Parks & Recreation operating budget. Proposed work will identify the current and foreseeable maintenance, repair and rehabilitation needs of each of the eight eligible structures and organize the preservation and rehabilitation treatment strategies and their associated cost projections into a prioritized plan for the building's continued preservation and utilization.

The study builds upon the Schofield Farm & Open Space Master Plan adopted by the Board of Trustees in February of 2018.
