SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
Beginning in 2016 the Town of Erie began partnering with Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) on the shared school and park site in the Flatiron Meadows development. The partnership began with the master planning of the park site to complement and connect to the Meadowlark School through view corridors. This connectivity continued with the design of a sidewalk to provide the delineation between BVSD and Town property.
With the completion of the park, Town staff have been working with BVSD staff to complete an intergovernmental agreement and easement to formalize the maintenance responsibilities for the sidewalk that divides the two properties. In late December 2018 final maintenance responsibilities for the sidewalk and attached southern parking lot were agreed upon and the attached IGA and easement were completed and approved by legal counsel for both the Town and BVSD.
With approval of this IGA and granting of easement maintenance responsibilities will be formalized going forward.
