SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The 2018 Edition of Standards and Specifications for Design and Construction of Public Improvements (Standards and Specifications) was adopted by the Board of Trustees in December 2017. In order to ensure the Standards and Specifications are kept current, periodic updates are necessary.
Since the last update, there have been changes in some industry standards and materials and construction practices that require updating this document. We have updated and reviewed these changes for the 2019 Edition of the Standards and Specifications and also made some clarifications. A summary of these changes is attached. These Standards and Specifications are consistent with the most recent Unified Development Code.
