Approve the Resolution for payment to United Power, authorize Staff to expend funds and contingency funds.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

 

At the June 13, 2017 Board Meeting the Board of Trustees awarded the design contract for the Erie Parkway Bridge Over Coal Creek to RockSol Consulting Group, Inc. At that time the Board of Trustees was notified that Staff will bring contracts back to the Board for the construction of this project.

 

During the design of the bridge it was determined that the existing United Power electrical line would need to be relocated.  This line is in an easement so the Town will be responsible for the cost to relocate it.  In addition to the relocation cost, new street lights are needed and power for Town owned lights on the bridge.

 

In addition to this resolution, on the agenda tonight is a resolution for approving a Construct Contract for the construction of the Erie Parkway Bridge Over Coal Creek (Consent Agenda 18-375) and resolution for approving a Construct Management Contract for the construction of the Erie Parkway Bridge Over Coal Creek (Consent Agenda 18-376).

 

Staff is recommending paying the cost estimate of $70,158.93 to United Power.

 

In addition to the United Power Costs, there will be construction and construction management costs.

Project Budget

The 2018 Transportation Impact Budget has $2,182,769 remaining for the Erie Parkway Bridge over Coal Creek after the second supplemental.  There is $7,000,000 in the 2019 Transportation Impact budget for the Erie Parkway Bridge over Coal Creek.  The anticipated expenses for 2018 will be less than $2,000,000.
