SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

The 2018 Transportation Budget has funds appropriated for designing the Erie Parkway and WCR 7 Intersection Improvements.

Erie Parkway is an important Arterial Roadway in the Town of Erie. The Town completed an Erie Parkway Corridor Study and Transportation Master Plan earlier this year. Due to an increase in traffic accidents at the intersection of Erie Parkway and WCR 7, Town Staff had Fox Tuttle Hernandez prepare a Traffic Signal Warrant Study which determined that the intersection meets four of the nine warrants for a traffic signal and recommended that a traffic signal be installed.

A Request for Proposal was posted on the Town's website on July 12, 2018 to ensure that local consultants were notified about this project.
