SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The 2018 Capital Budget includes funds for the installation of new signal heads at the existing traffic signals located at Erie Parkway/Flatiron Meadows Boulevard, Erie Parkway/Colliers Parkway, Erie Parkway/Meller Street, Erie Parkway and Weld County Road 5, and County Line Road/Austin Avenue.
The Town installed these permissive left turn signals last year on Erie Parkway at Briggs and Powers Streets based on an evaluation that was completed on the traffic movements at these intersections. From that evaluation, a new traffic signal head with a dedicated left turn signal was installed at both intersections for traffic turning off of Erie Parkway. Along with the new signal heads, new controllers were installed to better manage the signals functions.
A total cost was requested from W.L. Contractors who is the current the Town’s traffic signal and school speed awareness maintenance services contractor. The proposed costs include traffic control equipment and installation.

Recommendation
Staff has reviewed the bid and found the bid to be competitive. Staff recommends award of contract to W.L. Contractors, Inc. WL is familiar with this type of work and has completed successful projects for the Town of Erie as well as other municipalities.
