Approving the Resolution to award said contract, authorizing the appropriate Town officer to execute said contract, authorizing Staff to expend contracted funds and contingency funds.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

Vista Parkway was evaluated from County Line Road to State Highway 7 regarding structure and ride ability. Staff budgets for phased improvements over a 10-year time frame. In 2017, Staff hired Metro Pavers to complete improvements to four areas between Parkdale Circle to Mountain View Boulevard.  Staff requested continued work in 2018 between Hickory and Singletree for a proposed cost of $99,146.75.  Metro Pavers was awarded the annual contract for asphalt repair at the January 9th BOT meeting. Staff inadvertently left the separate Vista Ridge repairs off the spreadsheet and associated resolution at that time, however we proceeded with the repairs and now need a resolution in order to pay the vendor. The overall cost is within the amount budgeted in 2018 and based on the agreed to unit pricing. The work is now complete.

 

Staff recommends awarding the construction contract to Metro Pavers for improvements to portions of Vista Parkway, in the amount of $99,146.75. Metro Pavers is the Town’s annual asphalt repair contractor for 2018.
