SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The 2018 General Fund Streets Operating Budget includes funds for annual street maintenance services. Part of these annual services includes the application of crack sealant to various streets. Applying crack sealant helps seals cracks to prevent moisture from entering the cracks and therefore prolongs the life of the surface. The process of crack sealing requires warmer temperatures, therefore this project is not anticipated to start until April/May and will take approximately 60 days to complete.
An Invitation to Bid was sent out and posted on the Town’s website on March 22, 2018. Bids were received on April 13, 2018 and are listed as follows:

The low bidder is Precise Striping, LLC, located in Frederick. No bids were received from local vendors. Precise Striping, LLC has successfully performed this work for the Town previously.
Staff has reviewed the bids and found them to be acceptable. Staff recommends award of services contract to Precise Striping, LLC. This contract allows for an up to two additional years renewal options providing the prices do not increase more than 2%.
