SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
In the 2018 budget, the Board of Trustees authorized funds for the replacement of the pool play structure in the Erie Community Center zero depth pool. A Request for Proposals was issued on February 21, 2018. The following three companies submitted design proposals and quotes:
Vendor Quote
Recreation By Lemmie Jones, LLC $ 106,000.00
Aquatic Chemical Solutions, Inc. $ 108,925.00
CEM Sales and Service $ 109,450.00
Analysis completed by staff determined Aquatic Chemical Solutions to be the preferred vendor. Some of the deciding factors:
• Overall costs are within budget
• Provided more play elements on activity tower than other vendors
• Play elements are playCONNECT™ - Industry’s first modular feature mounting system for activity towers, allowing the ability to add, remove or replace features with playCONNECT™ to extend the lifetime of the structure
• Activity tower is constructed of stainless steel
• Activity tower has an integrated manifold with the controller in the arms allowing for design of the hydraulic requirements
• Vendor has proven record with the Town of Erie, having completed other upgrade projects and routine maintenance at the Erie Community Center pool
• Vendor is a Colorado vendor and able to complete the project within the specified timeframe as well as assist with pre-installation tasks at no additional cost
• Positive reference verification
