SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

Beginning December 4, 2017 through December 12, 2017, weather permitting, the intersection of CR6 and CR7 will be closed due to installation of a new 24-inch water mainline. This new mainline ties into the existing 30-inch transmission line from the water treatment facility to the Town’s 1.5 and 4.0 million gallon tanks. The new line replaces a smaller temporary line installed this summer and will serve office facilities at Crestone Peak’s Hub Facility. The new line has been sized according to the Town’s current Water System Master Plan.  The detour route will be Erie Parkway to the north, the east I-25 frontage road to the east, SH 7 to the south, and Sheridan Pkwy/CR5 to the west.

In order to complete the work safely and effectively, the contractor believes closure of these roadways is warranted.  Staff has reviewed their closure requests and agrees that closure is the most efficient, and more importantly, safest approach.
