SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
Approval of the attached ordinance will exempt from Erie sales tax certain items sold by the St. Vrain Valley School District. SVVSD made the request as a way to support student-led and school involved efforts to sell things that benefit, teachers, students, and/or specific schools. At the time the request was made the examples given were things like t-shirts, signs, and other small items that might be worn or used by students at athletic events or other school functions. SVVSD reported that often times these efforts are student-led and promoted as a way for students to exhibit school spirit while also learning practical skills.
The estimated impact on the Town’s budget is perceived as negligible.
