SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The Town of Erie, Colorado (“Erie”) is a participant in the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District’s (“Northern Water”) Northern Integrated Supply Project (“NISP”), and has been a participant in NISP since its beginning in 2002.  Erie has experienced considerable growth over the past 20 years and anticipates continued growth.  NISP will be a key component of Erie’s water portfolio in meeting potable water demands with a clean renewable source of water.

Northern Water has asked the 15 participants to submit a letter of support to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission prior to the Commission September 7th meeting. The Commission will be discussing and hopefully approving the State Fish and Wildlife Mitigation and Enhancement Plan at the meeting.

The Town water attorney and Staff has prepared the attached letter of support for the Mayors signature.
