Approving the Resolution to award said contract, authorizing the appropriate Town officer to execute said contract, authorizing Staff to expend contracted funds and contingency funds.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The 2017 Transportation Fund has funds appropriated for the installation of new signal heads at the existing traffic signals located on Erie Parkway at Briggs Street and Powers Street. An evaluation was completed on the traffic movements at these intersections. From that evaluation, a new traffic signal head with a dedicated left turn signal will be installed at both intersections for traffic turning off of Erie Parkway. Along with the new signal heads, new controllers will be installed to better manage the signals functions.
A proposal was requested from W.L. Contractors who is the current the Town's traffic signal and school speed awareness maintenance services contractor. The proposed costs include traffic control equipment and installation.
Staff recommends awarding the construction contract to install left turn signals on Erie Parkway at the Briggs Street and Powers Street intersections to W.L Contactors. W.L. Contractors also completed, upgrades to the 111th and Arapahoe traffic signal.
