SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

United Power is proposing to install an underground power feeder line in Town open space north of Vista Point.  It is part of a larger feeder line project that connects from United Power substation at 160th Avenue and Sheridan Parkway in Broomfield to the north side of Vista Pointe. United Power is proposing to bore the line through the open space to minimize land disturbance.  There will be a couple bore pits located within the open space that United Power will required to reestablish native grass when complete.  Parks Department staff has meet with United Power to discuss the project and how to return all disturbed areas to its current condition.

The Encroachment Licenses will grant United Power the right to use a small portion of the Town’s open space for this underground line.  The agreement also allows the Town to terminate the agreement at any time with a 90 day notice.

Staff is recommending approving the resolution and authorizing the Mayor to sign the Encroachment License Agreements.
