SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The 2016 budget provided funds to complete an update to the 2010 Parks, Recreation, Open Space, & Trails Master Plan (PROST). To facilitate this update staff contracted with the consultants used previously, GreenPlay, LLC and Design Concepts. Staff worked closely with GreenPlay and Design Concepts to update the PROST to reflect the growth of the Town and incorporate changes to Unified Development Code, impacts fees, and development philosophy.
Steps/Actions completed:
• Reviewed and incorporated survey previously completed
o 2013 and 2015 National Citizens Survey
o 2014 Parks and Recreation Survey
• Reviewed Town Comprehensive for changes affecting PROST
• Completed community profile and market assessment
• Hosted parks and recreation visioning sessions with residents and staff
• Held interviews with stakeholder groups
• Chapter by chapter updates for data changes
• Completed inventory update and analysis
• Completed GRASP® Analysis (Geo-Referenced Amenities Standards Process)
• Updated maps and perspectives for final document
• Requested and received input from Open Space and Trail Advisory Board
GreenPlay will be present at the meeting for a brief presentation on the updates and answer any questions.
