The Town of Erie Public Works Department (Wastewater Division) has purchased the replacement JWC Grinder due to a recent failure making the grinder inoperable. The current grinder had teeth missing which caused a misalignment which led to the teeth being worn down significantly which eventually caused the grinder to fail.
The main purpose of the grinder is to grind up the screenings pulled from the influent in order to protect the succeeding equipment from damage from large objects (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gi1V7gXyVeo).
