SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The 2016 budget includes funds to design and construct improvements for solids/sludge handling equipment and to repurpose the old water treatment plant at the Water Treatment Facility. The existing building will house the solids handling equipment, the powder activated carbon system, and sodium permanganate system for taste and odor control and additional treatment. The solids handling equipment is necessary to be able to process our increasing water treatment waste as the Town continues to grow.
At the May 10, 2016 Board Meeting, the design phase of a design build project was awarded to Fischer Construction, Inc., and JVA Consulting Engineers, Inc.
