SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The purchase of a message board will allow the Public Works Department increased communication or warning to the residents of the Town and the traveling public. In an instance of road closures or detours the message board is paramount in communicating the situation and preventing some issues from arising. The message board will also allow for better communication regarding special events. Currently the Public Works Department utilizes the Town website as our only communication tool and having a message board will allow the department to reinforce the message on site.
Staff recommends purchasing the message board from Safety & Construction Supply, Inc.
