SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The Amended 2016 Budget includes funds includes $60,000 to purchase a Toolcat Maintenance Vehicle (Toolcat), the purchase price of the unit is $50,962.92. Accessories include a 60” Sweeper and a 60” Snow V-blade for a total price of $7,022.75. The Toolcat will be used primary to perform street maintenance activities and projects, such as alley maintenance, street sweeping, detention pond maintenance, snow plowing, and pothole repairs.
The Toolcat is manufactured by Bobcat of the Rockies (Bobcat), who received the Multiple Assembly or Procurement Officials (MAPO) bid. MAPO is an organization comprised of municipalities and other groups that competitively bids various products and services. Purchasing all pieces of equipment through Bobcat allows staff to use the Skid-Steer and Toolcat attachments interchangeably.
