SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
In recent years, the Town has acquired several open space properties. Four properties: King Open Space, Strieby Open Space, Schofield Farm Open Space and Wise Homestead Open Space, are currently without signs designating them as Town open spaces. Staff engaged companies to solicit quotes for the manufacturing and installation of new signs in these areas. The following quotes were submitted for four signs, one at each location:
Colorado Sign Fabricators: $21,400
Schlosser Signs: $22,398
Boyd Sign System: $23,692
Based on past work history and the quality of design, installation and durability of several other similar open space signs in Erie, staff is recommending Schlosser Signs, Inc. to manufacture and install one sign each at King, Strieby, Schofield and Wise Homestead, with one additional sign for Wise Homestead for a total cost of $27,975.00. Conservation Trust Funds will be used to fund this project.
