POLICY ISSUES:

Pursuant to section 8.03 of the Town’s Home Rule Charter, the Municipal Judge shall be appointed by Town Council.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation

Approve Resolution 25-057 appointing Amanda Bailhache as the Town’s Municipal Judge. Approve the Municipal Judge Services Agreement, setting Judge Bailhache’s compensation.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

Municipal Judge Teresa Ablao previously announced that she would not be seeking re-appointment when her current term ends on April 13, 2025.

 

On Feb. 18, 2025, the Town Council interviewed three Municipal Judge candidates. Staff began negotiations with Amanda Bailhache for the position of Municipal Judge and she has accepted the terms of the Municipal Judge Services Agreement.
