SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
This project will provide connectivity for pedestrians between the Colliers Hill development and Historic Downtown Erie. The proposed pedestrian trail includes a bridge spanning Coal Creek and a trail connection to the Coal Creek Trail. The new trail will utilize Coal Creek Park as the connecting point to Historic Downtown Erie.

In accordance with Section XII. E of the Bridgewater Annexation Agreement (Colliers Hill) signed on May 31, 2007, the developer of Colliers Hill is responsible for the design and construction costs of the trail from the west boundary of their property to Colliers Boulevard. The Town is responsible for the design and construction costs of the trail from Coal Creek Park to the west boundary of Colliers Hill, which includes a section of property owned by the Regional Transportation District (RTD).

The design of the pedestrian bridge is complete, the Town will put the project out to bid for construction early in April 2025. Staff will need construction assistance from the design engineer, FHU, while bidding and constructing the project.
